About Us
Down Syndrome Association of Hemet
and surrounding cities

The Down Syndrome Association of Hemet is a non-profit organization that
was developed by moms hoping to bring a better understanding of Down
Syndrome to their community and to support Inland Empire families in many
ways. The Down Syndrome Association is an affiliate of the National Down
Syndrome Society (NDSS) and the National Down Syndrome Congress
(NDSC).

Our Mission...
To promote public awareness, provide parent advocacy and support for
families who have individuals born with Down Syndrome.

Our Goals...
The Down Syndrome Association of Hemet would like to have it's own office
to hold meetings and to have their many resources available 7 days a week.
We would also like to have a place for parents to come and feel comfortable
to talk with one another and to let the children young and old hang out and/or
play with the age and sensory appropriate toys. We would also like to start a
scholarship program to offer a parents night out. We would also like to
provide grants for individuals who would like to participate in sports, music,
scouts, etc...   We want to start a sibling "support group" just for the siblings.
This would consist of many different activities for all ages and would give the
siblings a chance to connect with each other.
